What I Know About the Chinese Giant Salamander
1. Chinese salamander cultural importance
In Classic of Mountain and Seas people already wrote about Chinese giant salamander like they have four legs and they cry like babies.

Ancient Chinese people think when the Chinese salamander cries, it is going to rain and it’s important to their farming. In Chinese culture, dragon is about rain, so Chinese giant salamander is just like dragon.

2. Why I choose Chinese salamander
First, I think the Chinese giant salamander is very adorable and special.
Second, it’s a very old species. Chinese giant salamander is from about 170 million years ago.
Third, they are critically endangered, so we need to protect them.

3. Why Chinese salamander is critically endangered
First, climate change and human expansion and water pollution changed their living environment.
Second, people think their meat can be used for medicine to keep people healthy, so people go and catch almost all of them.
